Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to analyze the examples of poems, short stories, epic works and novels in Turkish and world literature and to analyze these texts by focusing on certain themes, symbols and concepts.

The works of Turkish and world literature are analyzed within the framework of certain concepts and themes.

1.1. To learn the historical development of comparative literature as a separate discipline and to gain theoretical knowledge about this field.
2.2. To develop an intercultural perspective by analyzing different literary works from Turkish and world literature.
3.3. To have awareness as to different cultures, traditions and literatures.
4.4. To identify and analyze the implicit and explicit meanings of a literary text.
5.5. To approach a text critically and make logical deductions based on textual evidences.
