Objectives of the Course

A study of travel accounts of diplomats of European diplomats, theologions, merchants and sailors travelling to the East in the 16th and 17th centuries.

Course Content

An evaluation of how the image of the East was fashioned by studying the travel accounts of diplomats of European diplomats, theologions, merchants and sailors travelling to the East in the 16th and 17th centuries.
