Objectives of the Course

This course aims to teach detailed interpretation of the phenomenon of globalization, which may represent a specific subheading of the World Economy course, and in this context, to analyze and interpret the macroeconomic performances of emerging market economies, one of the leading actors of the world economy in the globalization process.

Course Content

In this course, globalization and emerging market economies, foreign dependency resulting from the globalization process, increasing mobility of debt and short-term capital movements will be analyzed interactively. The economic, structural and cyclical characteristics of emerging market economies will be evaluated in terms of economic and financial crises with country examples.

1.Students will be able to explain basic economic concepts and their interaction within the framework of the world economy and emerging market economies.
2.Students will be able to compare the economic structures of various countries in terms of financial developments, crises and development levels in the world economy.
3.Students will be able to have detailed information about BRICS countries and compare Türkiye and BRICS countries.
4.Students will be informed about the applications of global short-term borrowing processes and methods in emerging markets.
5.Students will be able to analyze the problems of dependency and economic growth within the framework of new global economic conditions.
