Objectives of the Course

To inform about the basic concepts of finance and to raise awareness on finance-related issues. It is aimed to provide individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to make healthy and rational decisions on issues such as spending, savings, financing and investment in both their private and working lives.

Course Content

Concept of financial literacy, basic concepts of finance and economy, interest calculations, financial system, money and capital markets, financial instruments, cash budget, break-even analysis, alternative financial sources, investment decisions.

Research the concept of financial literacy and examine the basic relationships among financial knowledge, financial behaviour, and financial attitudes.

Basic Concepts of Finance and Economy
Week 2 - Preparation Work
Review fundamental concepts of finance and economics, including income, expenditure, saving, investment, inflation, interest, supply, and demand.

Business Finance and Financial Management

Examine the primary financial objectives of businesses and the roles of financial managers in investment, financing, and dividend distribution decisions.

Accounting System, Output of Accounting System Financial Statements

Review the fundamental functions of accounting and research the purposes of the balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows.
