Objectives of the Course

The aim of the Migration Theory and Policy course is to provide students with an understanding of the historical, theoretical, and political dimensions of migration. Within the scope of the course, students analyze the dynamics of internal and international migration, the causes and consequences of migration, and evaluate national and international migration policies, approaches to migrants' social rights, and global trends.

Course Content

The Migration Theory and Policy course addresses the fundamental concepts, historical background, and theoretical approaches to migration. Within the scope of the course, students learn about internal migration, international migration, forced migration, brain drain, refugee issues, and integration policies; they analyze the social, economic, and political impacts of migration. In addition, migration policies are critically evaluated from the perspectives of globalization, gender, and human rights.
