The primary objective of this course is to enable students to comprehend the structure, functioning, core actors, and power dynamics of the international system through an analytical perspective. Within the scope of this course, the historical evolution of international politics, fundamental theoretical approaches (realism, liberalism, constructivism, etc.), and foreign policy-making processes will be examined. The course aims to develop students' ability to critically analyze contemporary dynamics, crises, and cooperation mechanisms of global politics by anchoring them within a theoretical framework.

The International Politics course covers the core concepts, historical background, and theoretical foundations of the international system. Throughout the semester, key concepts such as state and non-state actors, sovereignty, balance of power, international organizations, globalization, international law, and security will be addressed. Furthermore, the transformations of the international system from the Westphalian order to the present, the Cold War and post-Cold War eras, global power rivalries, regional crises, and global governance issues (climate crisis, migration, terrorism, etc.) will be analyzed in conjunction with contemporary case studies.
