Objectives of the Course

This course aims to provide students with an applied understanding of the fundamental concepts of collective labour law, trade union rights, the collective bargaining process, mechanisms for the resolution of collective labour disputes, and strike and lockout practices, within the framework of relevant legislation and judicial decisions.

Course Content

This course covers the fundamental principles of collective labour law, freedom of association, the establishment and activities of trade unions, trade union membership, the collective bargaining agreement process, the authorization procedure, collective labour disputes, mediation, strikes and lockouts, as well as recent judicial decisions and practical examples in the field of collective labour law. The resolution mechanisms for collective labour disputes, including mediation, strikes, and lockouts, are analyzed within the framework of legal regulations and judicial decisions. The course aims to help students develop legal reasoning and interpretation skills through cases, jurisprudence, and current practices.

4.Critically analyzes disputes arising in collective bargaining and their resolution mechanisms.
5.Comparatively evaluates collective bargaining practices in Türkiye and at the international level.
