Objectives of the Course

Basic macroeconomic concepts, measurement of these concepts, macroeconomic units and the relationships between these units are explained and it is aimed to help students develop their ability and capacity to understand and question macroeconomic issues.

Course Content

In this course, the birth and development of macroeconomics, macroeconomic units and their relationships, basic macroeconomic concepts and measurement, consumption, saving, investment, money supply and money demand functions of macroeconomic models and macroeconomic policies will be examined.

Learning Outcomes
1.Students will be able to evaluate the historical processes that led to the emergence of macroeconomics and the development of macroeconomic approaches.
2.Students will be able to explain macroeconomic units and the relationships between them.
3.Students will be able to define and measure basic macroeconomic concepts such as national income, inflation, employment and unemployment.
4.Students will be able to construct and draw consumption, saving and investment functions which are the microeconomic foundations of macroeconomics and explain the relationships between them.
5.Students will be able to explain the short and long run equilibrium income level of the economy.
