To reveal the factors which created Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’s philosophy through expressing how the Enlightenment occured in the world and the steps taken in Turkey from the 15th until the 20th in the name of that enlightenment and modernization.
Starting from the Turkish reorganisations and reforms of tanzimat period, this course covers twentieth century Turkish modernisation with Atatürk’s reforms. A particular theoretical framework is drawn in the essence of interrelations between Atatürk and Turkish Modernisation. Atatürk’s six principles are examined and their political provisions are studied.
