Objectives of the Course

It is aimed to give information on disease symptoms, inoculum sources, diease cycles and control methods of fungal diseases of fruit and grape in our country.

Course Content

Course contains common information, inoculum sources, disease cycles, mode of infection, and control metheds of the fungal diseases of fruit and grape in our country. The laboratory session covers visual examination of diseased samples, and observation under light microscope by preparing slides from diseased tissues or pre-mounted slides of known fungal pathogens causing fruit and grape diseases.

Week 2 - Theoretical
Downy mildew diseases and Grapevine Downy Mildew

Introduction of Zygomycota, fruit diseases caused by Rhizopus spp., Introduction to Ascomycota
Week 4 - Theoretical
Fruit diseases caused by Taphrina spp., Powdery mildew diseases and powdery mildew diseases of fruits.

Powdery mildew diseases of fruits, and powdery mildew of grape
