Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to describe the general characteristics of insects and to teach basic information on the development, reproduction, morphology and feeding of insects. It is also to introduce the major taxonomic categories of insects.

Course Content

The course covers the following topics: the history and science of entomology; the place of insects in animal kingdom; the importance of human life; the development, reproduction, morphology and feeding of insects; the major taxonomic groups of insects; the place of insects in ecosystems.
