To understand the developments in the new techniques applied in cultivation of economically important plants and to make planning and application of plant breeding with these techniques.

Course Content

Some methods used in plant production such as in vitro plant production technique, mulch sowing, cross planting, mixed planting, covering method etc. are described

Name of Lecturer(s)
Assoc. Prof. Yakup Onur KOCA
Learning Outcomes
1.The situation of field crops in the world and our country (Turkey)
2.Determination of differences in production of field crops from other crops (ornamental plants or landscape plants)
3.Description of many planting applications such as sowing, crossing, mixed sowing
4.Determination of production possibilities by mulch (nylon covering) method, soilless agriculture and in vitro plant production technique
5.Use of different sources instead of soil such as peat, perlite and tuff and use of different sources instead of minerals sources such as vermicomposting or bat stew
