Objectives of the Course

To teach laboratory safety, organization of equipment and material in the chemistry laboratory and good laboratory practices.

To introduce the laboratory safety, hazardous chemicals and safety measures

Laboratory accidents and first aid.
Week 3 - Theoretical
Storing and carrying of chemicals
Week 4 - Theoretical
The general knowledge about laboratory operations and equipments
Week 5 - Theoretical
Cleaning and drying of glass materials
Week 6 - Theoretical
The safety at the work with spectroscopic equipments (IR- UV)
Week 7 - Theoretical
The safety at the work with spectroscopic equipments (NMR- X-Ray)
Week 8 - Theoretical
To determine melting, boiling and freezing points and safety measures
Week 9 - Theoretical
Wastes and waste management
Week 10 - Theoretical
Methodology of laboratory work: preparation of the experiment, experimental execution, preparation of the report.
Week 11 - Theoretical
Qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques and safety measures
Week 12 - Theoretical
To work with vacuum pumps, under low and high pressure, with pressurized gases and safety measures
Week 13 - Theoretical
The cooling, heating, drying, evaporating, to work under inert atmosphere, inert gases, storing the liquids, purification and safety measures
