The aim of this course is to provide biosystem engineering students with a basic understanding of dynamic system modeling and computer-aided simulation. Within the scope of the course, students are expected to describe physical and biosystem engineering problems using the concepts of system, variables, input-output relationships and mathematical models; represent simple dynamic systems with differential equation-based models; examine these models using analytical and numerical solution approaches; perform model solution and simulation using MATLAB and Simulink; and interpret graphical and numerical results from an engineering perspective.
The course covers the concepts of system, model, modeling and simulation; static and dynamic systems; input-output relationships; representation of simple physical and biosystem engineering problems using differential equation-based mathematical models; analytical and numerical solution approaches for dynamic system models; modeling, simulation and interpretation of graphical results using MATLAB and Simulink.
