Providing knowledge and skills on the definition and history of cartography, the types and significant features of basic cartographic materials used in soil mapping and the criteria relied upon for interpreting and delineating boundaries between soil types.
Basic concepts in cartography, characteristics and interpretation of aerial photographs, stereoscopic vision, fundamental principles of photo interpretation, topographic maps and their interpretations, identification of landforms on maps, fundamental principles of map-making, creation and interpretation of graphs and diagrams.
