Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to give information about fertilization of horticultural plants. The course also covers fertilization of field and greenhouse vegetables (tomato, cucumber, eggplant, strawberry, etc.), fruits (stone fruits, pome fruits, nut fruits etc.) according to analysis.

Course Content

Introducing hort and greenhose plant Teaching of factors effecting fertilization Introducing concept of plant nutrition and fertilization Teaching symtoms of plant nutrition deficiency and excess in hort and greenhouse plants Teaching apllication forms, methods and timing of fertilization in hort and greenhouse plants. Identification of basic principles on fertilization programs. Application the programs in selected plants

1.To be able to identify and classify fruit and vegetables according to climate and consumable parts
2.To be able to explain effects of factors to fertilization and find relationships among them
3.To be able to identify symptoms on deficiency and excess of plant nutrition elements in horticulture and greenhouse plants, take precaution in case of deficiency and excess stations
4.To be able to decide on aplication forms, timing, and amount of fertilization, and gaining ability on application of fertilization of plants
5.To be able to collect and interpret data and prepare fertilization program
