Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable Agricultural Economics students to effectively utilize modern information technologies in the processes of collecting, organizing, analyzing, and reporting agricultural and economic data. The course seeks to develop students' skills in retrieving data from national (TurkStat) and international (FAO) databases, analyzing this data using MS Excel and statistical software packages, and presenting their findings in a digital format in accordance with scientific reporting and presentation standards.

Course Content

This course covers basic and advanced computer applications relevant to the discipline of Agricultural Economics. The curriculum includes a review of the fundamental economic knowledge required for agricultural data analysis, the use of sectoral databases such as TurkStat (TÜİK) and FAO, and the application of mathematical and logical functions, graphical representations, and data analysis toolkits using MS Excel. Furthermore, the course provides hands-on training in generating descriptive statistics, conducting significance tests and regression analyses on agricultural data using statistical software packages, and employing computer-aided techniques for preparing professional reports.
