Objectives of the Course

The purpose of the course is to examine spatial strategies and design solutions for the physical, ecological, socio-economic and cultural dynamics of the city or a part of the city.

Course Content

Introducing urban design concept; Discussing urban design principles and strategies, explaining interdisciplinary relations, researching examples of urban design in our country and in the world.

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to perceive the concept of urban design
2.To be able to evaluate the relationship between urban design and architecture, urban and regional planning and landscape architecture profession disciplines
3.Comprehending and evaluating the place of urban design in landscape architecture
4.To be able to perceive urban design by understanding examples of urban design works
5.To be able to learn the functions and meanings of urban open and green areas
6.To be able to learn the principles of urban physical spaces such as street, intersection and square
7.To be able to understand the importance of design and design principles in the formation of urban physical spaces
8.To be able to have information about urban aesthetics and urban reinforcements
