Objectives of the Course

The aim is to teach the fundamental principles of geology and to provide an understanding of how these principles can be applied in other disciplines. In this context, individuals acquire general knowledge about rocks, which are the main subject of geology, and the minerals that compose them, and they gain skills in recognizing them. They also learn how to utilize this knowledge in solving problems related to agricultural production and natural resources.

Course Content

The relationship between geology and other branches of science, the general structure and chemical composition of the Earth, the substances comprising the Earth's crust, minerals and their physical properties, rocks and their characteristics and plate tectonics

Name of Lecturer(s)
Lec. Levent ATATANIR
