Objectives of the Course

The aims of this course are , learning to the general characteristics of phytoplankton and zooplankton , and the chrasteristics of the micro algea which are commerically used in aquaculture.

Course Content

Definition, general characteristics, classification, collection, identification and quantification of plankton; ecological factors which affect the production of plankton; biological events induced by planktonic organisms; the role and importance of phytoplankton and zooplankton; microalgae that commonly used in aquaculture

1.To learn the systematics of phytoplannkton and zooplalankton species that used in commerical aquaculture
2.To explain the events caused by planktonic organisms
3.To learn the culture methots of the most produced planktonic organisms
4.To know the factors that are effective in the planktonic production
5.Be able to solve the problems at the plankton production units of the aquaculture plants
