Objectives of the Course

This course aims to acquaint student with midwifery as a profession and work places of midwives, basic concepts and theories relation with midwifery.

Course Content

Introduction of midwifery and description of midwifery, work places of midwives, description of health institutes in Aydın province, description of some midwifery’s theorists, health team and health care system, some basic concepts; human, basic human needs, health, illness, environment, self-image, homeostasis, crisis, loss and grief, anxiety, stress.
