Objectives of the Course

Upskilling student(s) knowledge and skills in relation to contraceptive methods, communication and counselling to carry out family planning consultation.

Course Content

Üreme sağlığı ve Türkiye’de aile planlamasının durumu, iletişim, danışmanlık, başvuranın değerlendirilmesi, enfeksiyonun önlenmesi, kontraseptif yöntemler, infertilite, kayıt sistemi, aile planlamasında yenilikler.

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to clearify the situation and importance of the family planning in Türkiye and in the world in frame of family planning-related politics.
2.To be able to say the importance of communication in councelling and to carry out family planning counsultation by using interpersonnel communication skills.
3.To be able to provide family planning services according the steps of infection prevention.
4.To be able to provide appropriate method getting history prior to the councelling, and to be able to evaluate the applicant inclusively with physical and laboratory examinations.
5.To be able to explain the importance of genital tract infections in relation to family planning and to assess the applicant in relation to genital tract infections.
6.To be able to describe the councelling, to say its importance and aim, to recognize the contribution of councelling to family planning services and to explain the councelling tips (general, method specific and follow-up) and explain their characteristics.
7.To be able to order the fundamental principles of councelling from the point of applicant and consultant, to say the rights of applicant and consultant.
8.To be able to practice the family practice councelling (general, method specific and follow-up) by using the 6 steps throughout the consultation process.
9.To be able to consider the requirements of applicant while councelling.
10.To be able to classify the family planning methods, to say the mechanisms of action of methods, their positive and negative sites and rules of their usage.
11.To be able to follow-up new developments related to family planning methods and to informe the applicant about new methods
12.To be able to use basic registry forms and data collection forms related to family planning services in Türkiye.
