Our department carries out its education at university center campus

Our school, as Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Arts and Sciences - Physical Education and Sport Department, which was opened with the Physical Education and Sports Teaching program accepted students for the first time in 1995/1996 education year and has gone on its education as School of Physical Education and Sport with the decision no: 97/9414 by the Council of Ministers in 10/06/1997 The students graduated from Physical Education and Sports Teaching program of our school which consists of four departments can work as physical education teacher in schools tied to Minisitry of Education and in private schools and can work as coach with coaching certificate which students get thanks to elective courses they took during their school years.

To train individuals who believe the supremacy of law, are well-equipped at the national and international level, are able to contribute to science,technology, culture and art, internalize modern and ethic values by proceeding on the line achievements of our democratic and secular republic assign in the light of the principles and reforms of Atatürk. To become a department that produces and implements information about education and teaching profession, and is shown as an example thanks to physical education teachers they educate. Our department aims to train scientists and experts who know and introduce national values, and contribute to creative and global sicence by providing top-level undergraduate and postgraduate education to students in a place which gives them chance to exhibit their potentials.

Our vision is to become a department that is strictly tied to education principles about training physical education teacher for primary and secondary schools, and that trains educator and scientists solving problems, being creative, having criticial thinking, taking responsibility, deciding freely, and that does basic, practical, authentic and academic researches in education, sport, and teaching profession, and that presents in-service training to the institutions about subjects sport society needs, and that does researches about subjects institutions need, and that organises academic events to inform those working in educational institutions, and that aims to carry out community service responsibility at global standards and develop value system in conformity with the scientific criterias in cultural, art and sport areas, and that contributes to happiness of society, and that opens new horizons, and that grows scientists and experts who can be community leader at changing world conditions.

Our objective is to train physical education teachers who know the emotional, social, cognitive and physical developments of individuals, use teaching methods, take advantage of instructional technology, follow the developments and changes in physical training and sport area, have high-level general knowledge, have personal traits required by teaching profession, gain the necessary teaching certificate.
