Objectives of the Course

Understanding the basic features of oral language and verbal communication. Ability to use natural language and body language in the best way. Ability to prepare a speech. Ability to speak appropriately, prepared and unprepared.

Course Content

Basic features of oral language and oral communication. Basic features of speaking skills (using natural language and body language); Basic features of a good speech; Basic characteristics of a good speaker (stress, intonation, pause, diction, etc.); unprepared and prepared speech; Stages of a prepared speech (selection and limitation of the topic; purpose; point of view, determination of main and side ideas, planning, text writing; presentation of the speech) Speech types: Mutual conversations, conversation, self-introduction, answering questions, celebrating an important event such as New Year's Eve, birth, holiday, etc. congratulations, giving directions, talking on the phone, asking for a job, meeting/interviewing someone, speaking on radio and television, attending various cultural and artistic talks as a speaker, etc. Making impromptu speeches on various topics, studying speech samples and oral expression practices, correcting language and expression mistakes in the speech.

Good speaking and writing. Description of concept of ‘essay’ and methods to ensure integrity of text. What is effective speaking? Qualities of a good speech.

Correct verbal expressions in speeches, correct intonation
