Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to develop environmental awareness by observing various natural, cultural, and recreational areas on-site, while gaining knowledge and skills in designing excursion plans, organizing field-based activities, and managing recreational trips.

Course Content

The course covers topics such as recreational areas; the social, cultural, and environmental impacts of recreation; excursion planning; organization and preparation processes; observation and data collection; post-trip evaluation; sustainability; and excursion presentation.

Learning Outcomes
1.Classifies different types of recreational areas and their characteristics through on-site observation.
2.Analyzes the social, cultural, and environmental impacts of recreational areas.
3.Identifies recreational trip objectives suitable for the needs and interests of different target groups (such as children, the elderly, youth, individuals with disabilities, tourists, etc.).
4.Selects appropriate sites based on the identified target group and analyzes the characteristics of the chosen recreational area.
5.Prepares a detailed recreational trip plan tailored to the target group and the specific features of the area.
6.Organizes pre-trip preparations and assigns responsibilities for the field implementation of the recreational trip.
7.Implements the prepared trip plan in the field, demonstrates leadership, and manages the group effectively.
8.Effectively uses observation, data collection, and evaluation skills during the recreational trip.
9.Prepares a post-trip evaluation report that includes target group feedback and field observations.
10.Acts in accordance with principles of environmental ethics, cultural sensitivity, social responsibility, and sustainability throughout the recreational trip process.
11.Presents the trip plan and its implementation at a professional level by supporting it with visual and digital materials.

Target Audience Analysis I: General Definitions: Recreational trip objectives appropriate to the needs and interests of different target audiences (children, elderly, young people, disabled individuals, tourists, etc.)

Target Audience Analysis II: Area Selection and Evaluation: The characteristics of the tour area in selecting the appropriate area for the determined target audience.

Introduction to Trip Planning: Preparing a detailed recreation trip plan appropriate to the target audience and area
