Objectives of the Course

To have sufficient information on subjects about the nutrition, food components and their functions, dietary patterns and food service.

Course Content

to have informations about the nutritional status and its importance, food components and nutrient tasks, metabolism, energy consumption, quality of food, nutrition and dietary patterns according to the status of people, catering industry.

1.Learn chemistry of the carbohydrate, protein, lipid, vitamins and minerals found in nutrients.
2.Determine the properties of nutrients and resources
3.Lear digestion, absorption and metabolism.
4.Explain requirements, the problems of excessive and unbalanced intake
5.Learn the energy value of foods, energy expenditure, energy balance and imbalance
6.Determine the nutrition problems
7.Create own professional infrastructure with learning the interactions between nutrition and health issues
