Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course that able to identify the substances used in the level of dependency and threatens human health, be able to understand the effects of these substances on human health, be able to apply for the nursing care accordance with substance-dependent individuals provides.

Course Content

Concepts pertaining to substance addiction, substance addiction’s etiology, substance addiction’s epidemiology, substance addiction’s history. Addictive substances: nicotine, alcohol, cannabis, opioids, volatile substance, amphetamines, barbiturates. The effects of substances, the withdrawal symptoms, the medical treatment. Protective measures in the community.
