The aim of the course is to enable the students to recognize the science of archeology. Apart from this primary goal, it is also aimed at procuring them to analyze the cultures of Anatolia chronologically, providing them a proper knowledge about the major centers of the excavation which reflect he characteristics of these cultures in detail .
After the definition of archeology, the lower branches of science, and other disciplines relations are introduced, basic information related to the historical development of the archaeological excavations, such as excavation and the surface survey will be presented. The main excavation centers in Anatolia will be explained.
