Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to enable the students to reach the CEFR C1(advanced) level which is required for YDS and TUREB exams that are the requirements of The Culture and Tourism Ministry.

Week 1 - Theoretical
Introduction, Speculating and making deductions about the past, past modals, three part phrasal verbs,
Week 2 - Theoretical
Vocabulary on journeys and adventure, reading activity aiming prediction strategies, making speculations about historical mysteries
Week 3 - Theoretical
Reading an article on journalism, -ing and infinitive forms, binominal expressions, video watching about nature and universe,
Week 4 - Theoretical
Reading about extere adventures, it clefting, vocabulary on feelings, listening for causation,
Week 5 - Theoretical
Tag questions, understanding referance within texts, polysemy, what and all clefting,
Week 6 - Theoretical
Listening job interviews, intensifiers, video watching about extreme driving, telling a story about exciting journeys
Week 7 - Theoretical
Vocabulary about health problems, reading about wellness trends, listening on technology and health, relative clauses with complex relative pronouns
Week 8 - Theoretical
Listening a podcast on sport psychology, body, food and sport idioms, reading about gluten-free diets, pronouns and determiners,vocabulary about describing taste
Week 9 - Theoretical
Videos about healthy recipes, kitchen and food vocabulary, writing recipes
Week 10 - Theoretical
Slang expressions, listening rapid speech, reading a text on language and behaviour, noun phrases
Week 11 - Theoretical
Reading about animal behaviour, verbs followed by object and infinitive, participle clauses and verbless clauses,
Week 12 - Theoretical
Listening a radio show, gestures and body language, video activity on social engagement
Week 13 - Theoretical
Reading text: Urban Problems, culture and heritage vocabulary, discourse markers
Week 14 - Theoretical
Listening a radio report about building design, nouns with to, reading about political activism, word building, elipsis and substitution
