Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to teach the basic principles for the design of irrigation systems which are widely used in agricultural production.

This course aims to teach the basic principles in the design of systems used in irrigation methods.

1.To explain the working principles and application areas of different irrigation methods
2.Selecting and evaluating the appropriate irrigation method by considering the plant water requirements, soil characteristics, and land conditions
3.To perform basic design calculations for pressurized irrigation systems and to determine the system components
4.To design surface irrigation systems and compare their performance
5.Analyzing irrigation systems in terms of technical, economic, and water use efficiency to develop appropriate design and operating decisions
