Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to teach students the planning and design principles of agricultural enterprises, rural housing, plant production, and storage structures. Additionally, it aims to provide fundamental engineering skills in environmental control, heat and cooling load calculations, and sustainable waste management in agricultural structures.

Course Content

This course covers the structural and planning criteria for farm layouts, rural housing, machinery hangars, and various crop storage facilities (grain, silage, cold storage, roughage). In the technical phases, heat transfer, cooling load calculations, environmental control, and livestock waste management systems in agricultural structures are examined.

Name of Lecturer(s)
Lec. Yasin MERCAN
Learning Outcomes
1.Prepares layout and design plans based on structure-plant-environment relationships using fundamental engineering knowledge.
2.To be able to use basic engineering knowledge in planning.
3.Develops functional storage plans integrating modern technologies suitable for the desired purpose and environmental conditions.
4.Identifies problems by analyzing existing structures and projects, and develops solutions using scientific approaches.
5.Follows the latest developments in agricultural storage technologies and applies them in an environmentally sensitive manner in projects.
