This course is intended to prepare students for their professional engineering life in this field after school by providing knowledge and skills on modern biomedical instrumentation techniques by theoretical and project-based studies besides the ethical and regulatory issues related to the bioinstrumentation and safety.
Both theoretical and experimental project-based study involves (but not limited to) the following up-to-date topics: Biopotentials, biomedical signal processing, biomedical image processing, principles of modern biomedical devices, biomedical instrumentation techniques, ethical and regulatory issues and safety.
| 1. | Learn the fundamental principles of modern biomedical instrumentation techniques both theoretically and experimentally |
| 2. | Learn the ethical and regulatory issues related to bioinstrumentation and safety |
| 3. | Learn deeper knowledge and improve the design and analysis ability to get specialized on a specific modern biomedical equipment such as CT, MR, ultrasound, EKG, etc. for students’ professional life in engineering |
| 4. | To recognize biomedical devices |
| 5. | To recognize biomedical devices |
| 1. | Lecture notes and internet materials |
| 2. | John G. Webster, Medical Instrumentation – Application and Design, 4th Edition (2009), John Wiley and Sons Inc |
| 3. | System Theory and Practical Applications of Biomedical Signals, by Gail D. Baura, Wiley-IEEE Press, (2002) |
| 4. | Willis J Tompkins, ED. Biomedical Signal Processing, Prentice-Hall, 1993. |
