Objectives of the Course

This course aims to provide students the principles of DC-to-DC and DC-to-AC converters. In addition, to study analyzing techniques and design of power electronic circuits by using simulation softwares.

Course Content

Line-Frequency Phase-Controlled Inverters. dc-to-dc Switch-Mode Converters. Switch-Mode dc-to-ac Inverters. Resonant Converters: Zero-Voltage and/or Zero-Current switching. Snubber Circuits. Component temperature control and heat sinks. Computer Simulation of Power Electronic Converters and Systems.
