This course aims to present fundamental concepts of power systems, methods of analysis of such systems and develop models for power system components.
The course content covers basic structure of electrical power systems, electrical characteristics of transmission lines, transformers and generators, representation of power systems, per-unit system, symmetrical three-phase faults, symmetrical components, unsymmetrical faults.
| 1. | Define major types of components used in electrical power |
| 2. | Distinguish different types of faults and short-circuits from other system faults |
| 3. | Learn the tools and techniques used in power system analysis |
| 4. | Illustrate the representation of power systems |
| 5. | Apply the notation of per-unit system |
| 6. | Analyze different types of transmission lines |
| 1. | Power System Analysis, Arthur R. Bergen. Publisher: Prentice-Hall |
| 2. | Power system analysis , John J. Grainger, William D. Stevenson, Jr. Publisher: McGraw-Hill |
