Objectives of the Course

This course aims to present the fundamental concepts of ac and dc motor drives and provide students with the operation principles of such drives.

Course Content

Review of basic electrical circuits, electric drive systems, mechanical system requirements for drive systems, switch-mode power electronics converters in electric drives, dc motor drives, ac motor drives.
