Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week 1 - Theoretical
Similarities and differences between legend, epic and myth will be investigated by handling the the concept of mythology.
Week 2 - Theoretical
Information will be given about the creation of myths (Australipithecus, Homo Habilis, Homo Erectus, Homo Neanderthalensis, Homo Sapiens and Homo Sapiens Sapiens) from the Paleolithic Period
Week 3 - Theoretical
The "bull" figure in Near Eastern and Middle Eastern Mythologies will be handled comparatively.
Week 4 - Theoretical
Information will be given about "Gılgamesh myth" having an important place in both Sumerian and Babylonian mythologies.
Week 5 - Theoretical
The Figure of "snake" depicted as immortality, fruitfulness in The Near East and Middle East mythologies will be handled comparatively.
Week 6 - Theoretical
The Figure of "snake" depicted as immortality, fruitfulness in The Near East and Middle East mythologies will be handled comparatively.
Week 7 - Theoretical
Information will be given about "death, the land of the dead" in Middle Eastern and Near Estern mythologies.
Week 8 - Theoretical
Information will be given about the creation of the universe and humanbeing in Sumerian mythology.
Week 9 - Theoretical
Information will be given about the creation of the universe and humanbing in Babylonian mythology.
Week 10 - Theoretical
Information will be given about the creation of the universe and humanbeing in Greek mythology.
Week 11 - Theoretical
The creation of the universe and humanbeing in Turkish mythology and monotheistic religions will be discussed comparatively.
Week 12 - Theoretical
The subject of Cain and Abel having an important place in the Middle East and Near East Mythologies (Sumerian, Babylonian, Judaism, Christianity, Islam) will be investigated comparatively.

Detailed information will be given about the Flood myths having an important role in the World mythologies.
