Objectives of the Course

To learn the relationship between tourism industry and airline industry, flight schedulling, reservation requests, be able to calculate their fees and ticketing.

Course Content

The International Air Transport Association (IATA)- Its aim, activities, membership procedures and membership types, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)- Its activity and members, IATA Geography and Traffic Conference Zone.Doing exercises about global indicators, city and country codes, the tranfer point of flight schedule, non-stop transfer, stop point, internationational flight tariff’s book (OAG) and exercises about using airport flight tariffs, minimum connection time and flight routes of the airplanes, calculating flight time and time differences between countries, international history line with GMT/UTC, looking into time tables that shows the situation of the countries according to GMT, traffic rights, definitions and characteristics of the trip origin, destination, turnaround and intermediate points, basic restrictions on the fare part and the trips with intermediate points, free luggage rights, standard traffic documents (BSP system), trip types (ow-rt-ct-oi), ticket validity, passenger registeration, public distribution system, issuing connected tickets, money rules (BBR, BSR, COP, IROE, CCOP, NUC, LFC), the characteristics and applications of fare calculation, using taxes and fares according to trip order, e-ticketing, discounted fares, ticket characteristics of group and special interest tours, international airline alliances, rebate.

1.Defines and explains the fundamental terminology, abbreviations, and international codes used in the travel and ticketing industry.
2.Uses the terminology related to air, road, rail, and maritime transportation accurately in appropriate professional contexts.
3.Applies professional terminology correctly in reservation, ticketing, and passenger service processes through practical examples.
4.Seyahat ve biletleme işlemlerinde kullanılan mesleki dokümanları, elektronik rezervasyon kayıtlarını ve bilet bilgilerini terminoloji açısından analiz eder ve yorumlar.
5.Uses travel and ticketing terminology effectively, accurately, and ethically in professional communication to support quality service delivery.
