Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to present the last period of the Ottoman Empire, the Turkish political life, the key issues, actors, major events and structural changes brought about by their political, economic and social point of view to investigate. The course also be evaluated in the chronological periods. ; The course examined the Turkish state tradition. In this way, Turkey's government, politics, and society which is interpreted on the basis of the historical foundations of secularism-Islam, civil-military relations, the problems of democracy, and the problems of transition to multi-party politics, historical, economic and political aspects will be emphasized. The thought of the present Ottoman themes Kemalism, the ideology and thoughts of westernization and other reactions will be discussed shaped. The expected values In this context, such as the western ideologies advocating causes will be discussed.

Course Content

Modernization efforts in the formation of modern Turkey since the Ottoman Empire, the Ottoman bureaucratic structuring effect of modern Turkey, the Republic of Turkey-up, in short, the period of the Turkish political life until the 1950s history, biographies of leaders, political institutions, and other key concepts are examined by evaluating.
