Objectives of the Course

The purpose of the course is to analyze important subjects, actors, developments in Turkish political life and the structural transformations within a social, economic and political view. All periods in the content will be examined chronologically.

Course Content

Turks before the Ottomans, Classical Ottoman period, Transformation of Classical Ottoman System, Tanzimat Period, New Ottomans, the First Period of Constitutional Monarchy, The Period of Sultan Abdulhamit, the Second Period of Constitutional Monarchy, the rise of the Unity and Progress Party, the Event of 31st March, the Controlling Government of the Unity and Progress Party, Opposition in the second Constitutional Monarchy, Authority of the Unity and Progress Party, entering the 1st World War, National struggle for Independence
