Objectives of the Course

To convey the conceptual and historical development of social policy, examine current social policy issues, discuss the phenomenon of poverty, and explore social policies targeting disadvantaged groups alongside effective actors.

Course Content

The conceptual framework and scope of social policy; the impact of globalization on social policy; the development of social policy in Turkey; the concept of poverty and poverty alleviation; social policies targeting disadvantaged groups; the relationship between gender and social policy; current social policies regarding education, health, social security, employment, and income distribution will be examined and discussed.
