Objectives of the Course

Some fundamental and advanced optical rules will be taught in the class to make students understand the working principles of the optical communication systems.

Course Content

Introduction to Optical Communication, Review of Optics, Characteristics of Optical Fibers, Optical Waveguides, Optical Sources and Transmitters, Optical Detectors and Receivers, Optical Modulation, Optical Amplifiers, Noise and Detection, Dispersion Management in Optical Communication, Optical Link Design.
