Objectives of the Course

To teach the historical process of communication types related to the program.

To examine the historical process of mass media especially with the development of communication and its types in the historical process.

Oral Communication Period: Oral culture, cave paintings, early humans, epics and myths
Week 3 - Theoretical
Invention of Writing: Written culture, Sumerians, clay tablets, the birth of the alphabet and the transmission of knowledge
Week 4 - Theoretical
Invention of the Printing Press: Print culture, Gutenberg, the printed book revolution and the rise of literacy

Communication Networks: Early postal organizations, trade routes and correspondence

Invention of the Telegraph: Electronic culture, electrical communication, international news agencies and the acceleration of journalism
