Objectives of the Course

The course provides a basic overview of the main theories, concepts, approaches and questions of political science. The student acquires the basic knowledge and analytical skills necessary for understanding modern politics in historical conte

Course Content

The relationship between economic theory and economic policy, the basic elements of economic policy, the objectives and tools of economic policy, political practices, factors determining policy effectiveness, traditional and contemporary economic schools and economic policies, real and monetary indicators in the economy and their interpretation are the main topics covered in the course.

1.Understanding of the concept of political economy is provided.
2.Be able to evaluate the approach of critical political economy to culture industries within the framework of the world system.
3.Will be able to analyse the political economy of consumer culture within the framework of monopolisation and convergence tendencies in the media.
4.Learns mainstream and critical currents about political economy
5.Be able to interpret the media policies in Turkey and the media contents shaped within the framework of structural change on the axis of critical political economy approach.
