Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to examine forms of expression in various artistic disciplines within the context of communication theories. It focuses on the interaction between art and communication, exploring modes of representation and meaning-making processes through a conceptual framework. The course aims to equip students with critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to interpret visual and audiovisual communication tools through works of art.

Course Content

This course explores how art functions as a form of communication within historical, social, and cultural contexts. It examines the relationship between visual and symbolic expression in artworks and media channels. The course discusses the intersections of art and communication disciplines through concepts such as art movements, the role of art in communication, propaganda, representation, ideology, aesthetics, and mass culture.
