The main objective of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive and critical vision of traditional and digital arts by examining visual arts from an aesthetic perspective. It aims for visual communication design students to acquire theoretical knowledge about art, aesthetics, and visual communication culture, and to question the meanings that images convey to the audience by developing their visual literacy skills.
The concepts of visual culture, art, and aesthetics; the changing perception of visual aesthetics in the context of photography, architecture, cinema, new media, and digital arts; along with visual literacy, image analysis, project/portfolio development, and critical evaluation processes constitute the scope of this course.
