Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to explain the equipment and techniques used in advertising photography, and to take photographs for advertising, fashion and product promotion by using artificial light in the studio environment.

Course Content

In this course, basic information about photography will be explained and equipment used in photography will be introduced. Then, special photographic equipment used in studio environment will be explained and application will be made in the area where these equipments are used. After teaching artificial lighting techniques, application will be made for a promotional photograph.

Introduction of equipment used in studio photography.

General information about light usage and lighting.
Week 3 - Theoretical & Practice
Hardness, brightness and direction adjustment in artificial light.
Week 4 - Theoretical & Practice
Facade light, lateral light, peak light, bottom light, reverse light use in the studio
Week 5 - Theoretical & Practice
Portrait photography, butterfly light, Rembrant lighting, narrow lighting, wide lighting, ceiling bounce, dividing light, the use of window light to explain and implement.
Week 6 - Theoretical & Practice
Explaining indirect, direct-reflected, background, background, hair, fill, main, angled and reverse light in portrait photograph.
Week 7 - Theoretical & Practice
General application of light usage and lighting.

Description of the color calibration system used before and after photography

Application of outdoor shooting
