The aim of this course is to provide students with fundamental knowledge of editing and montage theories, enable them to understand editing techniques used in audiovisual storytelling, and develop their ability to produce creative and effective media content by utilizing video, audio, and graphic elements within digital editing environments.
This course covers the historical development of editing and montage, fundamental editing theories, principles of audiovisual storytelling, and digital editing processes. Topics include the Kuleshov effect, Soviet montage theory, continuity editing, cross-cutting, rhythmic editing, and contemporary editing approaches. The course also provides practical training in video and audio editing, transitions, visual effects, motion graphics, color grading, copyright issues, and AI-assisted editing technologies.
