The main objective of this course is to help students comprehend the effects of technological developments and algorithmic culture on communication processes, thereby providing them with a strong theoretical foundation in art, design, and technology. Students will gain a critical awareness of 'data citizenship' beyond digital literacy and develop the ability to question technological imaginaries within the context of universal values. In the applied dimension of the course, students will practically experience how and where to use AI-supported design tools and current technologies within the framework of visual communication culture; production processes will be carried out in strict compliance with the ethical principles of design, art, and science. Ultimately, through multidimensional thinking skills, students will transform abstract concepts into innovative and original works around speculative themes such as the 'Smart City', and they will acquire the ability to analyze, project, and effectively deliver their designed digital services to the right target audience based on user experience (UX).
Technology debates, human-machine interaction, big data, internet of things, generative AI ethics. Students creating a comprehensive portfolio at the end of the semester by producing visual, auditory, and UI (user interface) materials through weekly workshop studies within the framework of "The Smart City of the Future: Speculative Service Design".
