Objectives of the Course

The aim of the Innovation Economy and Management course is to connect the functioning of the knowledge economy with the processes of innovation, including the production, use, and distribution of knowledge. It explains the impact of innovation on business performance through definitions, sources, classifications, and process models. Students analyze the economic outcomes of innovative thinking using innovation theories, diffusion models, and measurement systems. Ultimately, the course teaches how to create sustainable competitive advantage through strategic innovation management and innovative organizational structures.

Course Content

The Innovation Economy and Management course begins by exploring the definition, sources, and classifications of innovation, along with its impact on business performance. It then examines innovation theories, diffusion processes, and measurement systems to understand how innovation spreads and is evaluated. Students learn practical innovation management techniques within organizations, supported by real-world examples and case studies. Strategic innovation management is emphasized as a way to build sustainable competitive advantage and align innovation with business strategy. Finally, the course highlights innovative organizational structures, leadership, and the role of future innovative workforces in shaping knowledge-based economies.
