The objective of this course is to examine contemporary and technological developments occurring globally in the field of logistics and supply chain management. Within the scope of this course, it is aimed to provide students with a strategic perspective on the future of the industry by analyzing modern topics such as e-logistics, disaster logistics, green/sustainable logistics applications, smart technologies (RFID, simulation, etc.), and the impacts of global crises on transportation management.
The content of the course encompasses simulation-based approaches in logistics management, knowledge management in supply chains, and smart information systems. Accordingly, specific fields of expertise such as contemporary issues in transportation management, project logistics in the energy sector, RFID and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in the retail sector, legal and administrative dimensions of disaster and earthquake logistics, and organ transplant logistics are examined. Additionally, e-logistics applications, current transportation infrastructure developments in Turkey within the axis of multimodal transport systems, and cost management in international rail transport are addressed through current case studies.
